Mayson Clay is an average woman in an average town who encounters something above average when she meets Mr. B. and takes on a job in his employ looking after his son, Eddie. She has other family members and employees yet to meet; however, in a family of business professionals, unavoidable situations prevent this from happening. So, Mayson carries on knowing she is to receive an insane amount of money for a job that hardly exists as far as she is concerned.

When situations arise making it necessary for her to confer with Mr. B. for more information to help his son, the unthinkable happens, escalates, and leaves Mayson in a tailspin at home sitting on her couch wondering if this really did happen. As she starts to connect the dots, she realizes where they lead in the most unusual of ways and discovers the truth with the help of some very unusual new friends.
